Opportunities For Women
*Growing together in love, growing up in holiness*
WOMEN’S MINISTRIES seeks to connect women with God and with others in meaninful ways as we together progress in our faith journey. In order to accomplish this we have 5 particular focuses.
- Special Events: We provide large and small events that help connect women with each other and with God. These events take many forms from an annual retreat (early fall), to a special breakfast, a movie night, a book club, “Leave the Grind Behind” end of year event, etc.
- Mentoring: Has 2 forms that allow women to grow in intimacy with God and be transformed. (1) Journey Of Growth (J.O.G.) experience. See article below for details. (2) One-on-one mentoring relationships.
- Lay Counseling: A place where women who are struggling with life’s hurts and sins find healing and wholeness in Christ and His Word.
- RENEW (Reaching, Encouraging, Nurturing Every Woman): A weekly bible study & fellowship time that helps establish women in the faith and equip them for ministry.
- Prayer: A weekly prayer meeting open to all that focuses on interceding for each woman in our church on a regular basis. It meets on Thursday and is linked to our RENEW Thursday morning bible study, so women can enjoy fellowship and worship from 9:30-10 with RENEW (if so desired) and then attend the pray time from 10-11.
To find out dates and times specific events go to Women’s Events . You are greatly encouraged to participate in any or all of these ministries. They are planned with you in mind and for your growth and enjoyment. For further information call Cindy Little at 905-873-0249, Ext. 109.
THE JOURNEY OF GROWTH MINISTRY
The JOURNEY OF GROWTH (J.O.G.) ministry is a new and exciting dimension of our mentoring program that will cause the spiritual disciplines to become a lifestyle for us so that we will experience greater intimacy with God and life transformation. It is also a way to connect in a meaningful way to develop a spiritual friendship with 2 or 3 other women.

Who is the J.O.G. Ministry is for?
Every woman in the church from high school age right through to seniors.
What is involved in the J.O.G. Ministry?
The J.O.G. Ministry has 2 components – a personal and a group component.
PERSONAL COMPONENT:
- Goal: For each woman to develop godly habits/spiritual disciplines in her weekly routine that will lead to Christlikeness and greater intimacy with God.
- What is involved: (a) Memorizing one or 2 verses over a period of 4 months. (b) Reading a passage of scripture, journaling and praying 5 days per week, taking a minimum of 15 minutes per day…but can be as long as desired.
- The participant will (a) read through a particular book of the Bible systematically, (b) read the same portion of scripture over 5 times during the week in order to learn to listen to God’s voice speaking, © journal what God is saying in 1-3 sentences.
GROUP COMPONENT (J.O.G. GROUPS):
- Goal: The JOG Group will be a place participants will find encouragement and support from other Christian women who are on a similar journey resulting in life transformation and leading to spiritual multiplication.
- What is involved: (a) The J.O.G. Group will be made up of 3-4 Christian women, one of them assuming the role of group “coach”. (b) Group will meet weekly for 1 hour at a convenient time & location. The hour will be broken into 3 parts – (1) accountability/sharing, (2) bible, (3) prayer. Depending on which phase the J.O.G. group is in, the division of the 60 minutes will be different.
What is the structure of the J.O.G. ministry?
There are 3 phases, each have a slightly different focus which will lead you through a growth experience of forming godly habits, to delighting in an intimate relationship with God, to multiplication.
- Phase 1: Spiritual Training which will focus on (a) Forming healthy habits and disciplines for Christian living; (b) Building relationships that are comfortable and trustworthy.
- Phase 2: Spiritual Running which will focus on (a) Finding delight in the newly formed Christian disciplines & habits; (b) To be spurred on toward greater life transformation through a more intimate degree of accountability in the J.O.G. group.
- Phase 3: Spiritual Relay which will focus on bringing each member of the group to a place of maturity where (a) the Christian disciplines are firmly engrained habits of their life; (b) they are ready to coach/mentor others through Phases 1-3.
- For each phase a packet will be given out with instructions, helps, etc.
What is the lifecycle of the J.O.G. Experience?
_It is a minimum of 1 ½ year process, where each phase builds upon the preceeding one, but it can last a lifetime. We encourage groups to remain in phase 1 until the spiritual disciplines are truly habits and until each group member feels a desire to move into more intimate spiritual accountability.
